After purifying oneself at night, wear red clothes and place the idol of Durga on a red cloth followed by lighting a lamp of ghee and recite the following mantra;

Puja prarambh karat houn suno maate meri

Aasan liye prem se, virajoJagdambike

Now one should face the north while sitting on a red cloth. Goddess Durga Mantra   should be recited 100 times daily for 31days then the persoh will be released from jail.
